DDP injured at SummerSlam

Apparently, there could be more than one reason as to why Diamond Dallas Page was squashed at SummerSlam in the cage match. Aside from backstage heat, Page worked the match with a torn meniscus in one of his knees. The injury, which occured a few weeks prior to SummerSlam, was known to WWF officials. Page is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday and could undergo arthroscopic surgery as early as Friday. Should surgery be required, Page will be out for approximately 3 weeks. Page also suffered a possible shoulder injury during the cage match which needed to be iced heavily. The injury did bother him at Raw last night as well. However, the extent of the injury is unknown and depending on whether it is serious or not, Page may have to take even more time off.
